We are designing an athletic facility, and have been told by the manufacturer of the basketball court flooring, that "Solid wood flooring has been exempt from the Floorscore requirements." Can anybody confirm this for me please and if so, point me towards a CIR or other relevant information? Thanks very much in advance.

in the addenda, it says "unfinished/untreated solid wood flooring qualify for credit without any IAQ testing requirements". So what the meaning for 'unfinished/untreated'. Its not just saying solid wood flooring is exempted!

Hi Nic and Bala,
This language is very confusing. Most wood flooring is treated or finished, especially in a commercial application and it seems odd that the USGBC would only allow you to exclude wood flooring if it were completely untreated. My logic would be the following: I'd see if my wood product could fall within FloorScore or CA Dept of Health. FloorScore eligible products are limited so most likely your product would not fall within that realm. Aside from that, I'd ensure that any wood flooring sealants or adhesives you use are listed under EQc4.1 or EQc4.2, as applicable and then exclude my wood flooring product from EQc4.3.
I hope that helps. Has anyone else tried a different approach?
