For the same reason, wood that is FSC-certified for its reclaimed or recycled content is excluded from calcs here.

Are you saying that wood that is purchased new but labeled "FSC Recycled" does not count at all in MRc7? Meaning it does not count towards the total cost of new wood purchased OR toward the total cost of FSC certified wood?
Annette, that's right.
"New wood" means wood that is not recycled, reused, or reclaimed—it basically is fresh from the forest. Only new wood counts toward MRc7 calculations.
Because FSC does certify recycled and reclaimed wood that may as you say be "purchased new" for the project, it's important to note that this wood does not count toward MRc7.
