Sound absorption, interior to the core learning spaces, will determine reverberation time and is part of the acoustics prerequisite.
Sound isolation between core learning spaces, STC ratings, is not part of the prerequisite but is part of EQc9.
Both sound absorption (reverberation time) and sound isolation (STC ratings) are in ANSI S12.60.
Hi Daniel,
Is it still true that the STC ratings are part of the prerequisite for projects registered under the 2007 version? We are trying to wrap up the design submittal for this project and are having a hard time getting STC ratings information for all of our wall assemblies.
Thanks in advance for your (or anyone else who can advise!) input!
Breana
Yes. As far as I am aware, STC requirements are still part of the LEED 2007 prerequisite.
Thanks for the quick response! Do you know anyone who achieved this prerequisite? Did they use the alternate compliance path or was each wall, floor, and ceiling assembly able to meet all of the STC requirements in every case?
I've consulted on three LEED 2007 projects. We achieved the STC ratings in every case.
