I understand that in LEED 2009 you can achieve up to 3 points for exemplary performance. How is this different from LEED 2008? I had a colleague achieve multiple exemplary performance credits...

I would say 'yes" to leaving them alone. What do you mean by checking them complete? That would imply to me that you've completed documenting them, which you haven't.
