The requirements of 5.4.3.4 (ASHRAE 90.1-2007) are very strict. My team is trying to certify a shopping mall with many shops opening directly to the outside.

A building within college campus with shared parking

My project is located within a college campus. The building does not have its own parking within the LEED boundary. However, there is a campus parking lot adjacent to the builidng.

The language for this case specifies open vegetated space "adjacent" to the building. Does adjacent mean next to the building or can it be vegetated open space near to the building as well?
