On a previous LEED for Schools 2009 project I was sucessful in not including the space occupied by built-in casework in the occupied square footage of a space.

In the past GBCI has stated as a side note: "For future projects, please note that occupancy sensors alone are not an acceptable form of lighting control".

Existing classrooms on an addition

We have a project that is an addition to an existing school. The existing classrooms are included in the LEED boundary, but they have only had minor updates of mechanical systems.
