We have a campus site site with areas, outside of construction limits, that contain many mature shade trees with turf grass underneath.

Does LEED turf count as vegetation in the 25 % minimum vegetation of outdoor space?

I have two questions related to calculating the 25% Vegetated Space for the Sustainable Sites Credit in LEED v4.0:

Can you include open spaces at roof level (Green roof, accessible by all) as part of the 30% requirement, or does the entire 30% need to come from open space at ground level only?

SS c2: Site Development- Protect or Restore Habitat:  does a Dog Park area comply if vegetated with native or adaptive species?

The LEED User Guide clearly states in Equation 2.

We are looking at submitting this for a LEED Campus submittal but have some questions about the calculations.

Could we consider physically accesible a roof open to all tenants but without an elevator (the only way to get there is through the stairs)?

I'm confused of how the vegetation/plants will be measured.

Can an outdoor mall entrance courtyard count towards the 30% open space requirement, providing 25% of vegetated areas using planters and accomodating benches for outdoor social activities?
