Is this EDI, or JEDI? (Justice, Equity...)

  • Equity, Diversity, And Inclusion In Our Firms

    • What are the barriers and what’s working to cut through them?

    • The process is so super slow... how to to celebrate our small achievements?

    • How are we fostering inclusion and diversity in our firms and creating opportunities for leadership?

    • Is it best to focus broadly on collaboration and valuing diverse voices?

    • What does the JUST disclosure process look like? What value are others seeing who have done this process?

    • How do we partner with our clients who are talking about and interested in this issue and leverage their perspective? For example: Senior Living, Affordable Housing, and potential clients in Higher Ed.

    • How do we set the environment to have constructive conversations around these issues?

    • Are there different ways to qualify diversity, or can we seek out the diversity in every team?

    • What are the diverse perspectives and concerns regarding equity in the A/E industry? Are they included at the table?

    • What are other firms doing to address retention when we're competing with people going into business for themselves?

    • Where does this help us be more marketable or profitable?

    • How achieving EDI is defined for an architectural practice?

    • Anyone seeing legit efforts not just surface programs and initiatives?

    • How can I contribute when I am very interested in this topic but I am not in a position in my firm to make hiring decisions?

    • What initiatives are firms taking to recruit and retain diverse staff?
