No, these products cannot currently qualify for ENERGY STAR. The ENERGY STAR program qualifies full-size and compact refrigerators and freezers. The current ENERGY STAR Program Requirements for Residential Refrigerators and/or Freezers covers products that meet the definition of a refrigerator, refrigerator-freezer, or freezer, as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy's Appliances and Commercial Equipment Standards Program but does not cover the following products: Wine refrigerators (also referred to as: wine cooler or wine chillers) Kegerators (also referred to as: beer coolers or beer refrigerators) Beverage chillers (also referred to as: beverage centers) EPA may consider the inclusion of these products in future product specification development.
