Whole Building LCA

Hello all,

I have a question related to whole building LCA in LEED. For example when comparing wood building construction to Concrete Building construction.

In order to do a fair comparison, we need to building energy simulation to see the building layers required for wood construction vs. the building layers resulting from concrete building construction (insulation, finishing, etc…) in order to maintain the same building envelope for energy consumption correct?

One more thing, I have noticed that the environmental impact in environmental product declaration for wood production might be higher than concrete material. Is this normal? And this is just based on the technology used in the factory and the amount of energy used.
