We are using a resinous flooring system in some restrooms. It does not seem to meet the Green Seal definintion of "Coating" since it includes aggregate and color chips. So I don't think it falls in 4.2 - Paints & Coatings, but I'm not sure if it fits any of the categories for 4.3 - Flooring Systems either. Do you have any experience or insight with this type of product? Thanks.

Kyle, I would call it a flooring system.

Tristan - in past postings at LEEDUser it was agreed that resinous poured in place flooring was a coating, not a flooring system, and should therefore be included under IEQ credit 4.2. Manufacturers seemed to agree and advertised that it was compliant with IEQc4.2 as a Floor Coating (<100 g/L VOC). Although, to my knowledge, this was never confirmed by an official Interpretation or Addenda.
I've had a preliminary review come back where the low VOC Stonhard resinous flooring system we used was listed and approved under IEQ credit 4.2. However, reviewers are pending IEQc4.1 because it wasn't there (I suppose they were looking for the sealant primer - fair enough) and also pending IEQc4.3 because it wasn't there.
So the question remains - what is resinous poured in place flooring - a coating or a system?
