What happens when you 'skip final design review'?

I've never been in this situation before, and I don't want to hit the button and 'wait and see.' i have a project where we were doing a split submittal. I submitted for preliminary design review and received comments. That review garnered several pending credits that we need to do clarifications on. None are currently denied. The clarifications took longer than expected to get back from my consultants, and in that time, construction was completed. The construction credits are now complete and ready to go. In light of that, I would prefer not to submit the clarifications to the pending design review credits only and wait another 3-4 weeks for those to come back. I want to submit those and the construction credits all together and just get going on the remainder of the review. So, can I do this by pressing the 'skip review' button under Design Final Review? Does it automatically kick those design credit that are re-opened and clarified to the next phase, Construction Review? I don't want to press the skip button and somehow the pending credits get put in as final or denied without the proper clarification and review. Thanks.

Hi Valerie, In LEED Online v3: Yes, there is an option for you to forgo the design final review and move into the construction phase so that you are able to submit both design and construction credits for review. In order to select this option, once your design preliminary review has been returned to you, instead of submitting the Design Final under the "Timeline" tab in LEED Online, please select the button directly next to it that says "Skip Review". The LEED Online v3 Help Content has a few very helpful screenshots, located here: (https://www.leedonline.com/irj/go/km/docs/documents/usgbc/leed/config/common/LOv3Help/i_want_to_accept_my_preliminary_review_results_as_my_final_review_results__.htm?searchTxt=skip design final&criteria=). Once you advance to the construction phase, you can prepare your construction credits and submit those for their first round of review, while submitting your design credits for their second round of review. When you submit for review, you will be prompted to make the construction phase payment. Please note, all credits only receive 2 standard rounds of review, so any design credits that were reviewed during the design preliminary review will only receive one more review in the construction phase if you select this option. In LEED Online v2: The project team administrator should contact GBCI via the ‘Contact Us’ page (http://www.gbci.org/contactus) to request that the project skip the design final review, and be pushed forward to the construction application phase. We hope this helps!
