Hi All,
I am working on a LEED CS project and I wanted to get clarity on what actually comprises of the regulated and unregulated loads. There has been a lot of confusion related to this. As per the guideline, energy used for HVAC, lighting, service water heating, motors, trans formers, vertical transportation, refrigeration equipment, computer-room cooling equipment, and other building systems, components, and processes with requirements prescribed in Sections 5 through 10 are all considered as regulated load. But as per defenition, those loads where we are not claiming any energy savings like process loads, elevator load, basement parking ventilation loads all these are considered as unregulated load.
Now, both these statements are contradictory to each other.
Hence, I am looking for a clearer picture on which load to be taken as regulated and which as non-regulated while doing the energy reduction calculation.
In my project, the following end uses are there:
Interior Lighting, Exterior Lighting, Internal Eqipments, Space Cooling, Heat Rejection, Pumps, Vent Fans, Basement Ventilation Fans, Elevator load.
Out of these what all shall I consider as unregulated load and with what reasoning ?
Thanks in advance.
