Hi!
Toilet (Water Closet); Urinals; Private Lavatory Facuet; and Showerheads all need to be WaterSense Labelled.
However- what are the equivalent labels? as per
"or a local equivalent for projects outside the U.S"
Thanks
Oli

I haven't seen USGBC come out with explicit guidance on this. I would suggest you ask GBCI. I will also ask a contact there.

Hi Oli,
A list of acceptable WaterSense substitutes outside of the U.S. is available here for LEED v4 projects: https://www.usgbc.org/resources/international-water-labeling-programs
Thank you,

Levan, the link provided above should take you to a page where you can download the current list as a PDF. Below, I have pasted the full text of the document for reference. This could be updated at any time, but what's below is what's current as of today.
INTERNATIONAL WATER LABELING PROGRAMS
WaterSense Equivalencies
In the following countries, project teams must select fixtures with the designated label in place of the WaterSense requirement:
COUNTRY / REGION LABEL WEBSITE
Australia WELS (4 stars out of 6) www.waterrating.gov.au
Canada WaterSense
Non-mandatory Labels
The following water efficiency fixture labels are recognized as market transformational, and are recommended, but not required for LEED projects:
COUNTRY / REGION LABEL WEBSITE
European Union European Water Label www.europeanwaterlabel.eu/findaproduct.asp?product=1820
www.well-online.eu
Taiwan Water Saving Label
China, Hong Kong WELS www.wsd.gov.hk/en/plumbing_and_engineering/ wels/index.html
Note: countries without a listed labeling program must meet the flush and flow requirements of “Table 6. Maximum installed flush or flow rates for prescriptive path” listed in the Step-by-Step Guidance section of the LEED Reference Guide.
