LEED v4 has a table (table 4) on page 58 that stipulates specific numbers of gallons of water allowable to either sterilize or wash in instrument tray. can anyone comment from where these values were derived?

Michael,
I'm looking at Table 4 and see requirements for Dishwashers that are limited by the rack. I don't see where this is impacting instrument sterilization.

Susan, it's in LEEDv4 BD &C page 58. Table 4. For medical or lab facilities. Listed 3rd on the table is Sterile process washer @ .35 gal/US tray. The lowest product available in the market uses approx. 4 or 5 gallons / US tray. feel free to email me as well. michael_burton@steris.com
thank you.

Michael,
I am working of the PDF version of the Reference Guide. Page 58 is a blank page! When I go to the credit, Table 4 only lists Dishwasher, Food steamer and Combination oven.
Table 1 is about baseline water consumption, EPA standards.
Table 2 is Appliance water use standards with no mention of sterilizers.
Table 3 is heat rejection and cooling and cooling tower and evap condenser standards.
Table 5 deals with water discharge temperature and vacuum drains.
Are you looking at an older or newer v4 standard?

Susan, yes I am using LEED v4. if you would like to provide me your email address I would be happy to send you a screen capture with highlights. seems the page number on your document may not align with mine. I am looking under WE Credit - Indoor Water Use Reduction. Specific to Lab and medical equipment. its the very last portion before WE Credit: Cooling Tower Water Use. Thanks.
