We’re currently working on a project that is following option one for this credit and calculating the waste diversion in weight. Doe to a misunderstanding, one of the contractors of the project has tracked one type of waste in volume. In order to integrate this waste to our credit calculations, we’re searching if a valid conversion can be made from volume to weight. Even though the LEED NC-v4 guide doesn’t mention conversion rates, we have found a “Volume-to-weight” conversion table for construction and demolition debris in the LEED v4 Multifamily Midrise credit “Construction waste management”.
So in this case our question would be: is a conversion from volume to weight allowed for this credit and if so, is the Multifamily Midrise table a valid source to use?

Charlene - The short answer is yes and yes. (In fact, as noted here under LEEDuser's Viewpoint, we are citing the LEED v3 conversion table because there was not one in LEED v4 Reference Guide for BD+C.) Thanks for pointing out this resource! I found it in the credit library as part of the credit requirements - http://www.usgbc.org/node/2695214 - for the Construction Waste Management credit for Multifamily Midrise. It is much more detailed than what we are sighting from v3 above and I will work to get it referenced/communicate with USGBC again about this missing resource in BD+C.
