We are working on a project that has a loading deck with an area inside at the perimeter of the warehouse that will be regularly occupied. In order to achieve the credit we would like to provide views with the glazed sections included in the roll up dock doors.
We are in the exact same situation as LI ID#2304 except different types of doors are being considered and the glazed sections have not been finalized.
The architect will also provide regular doors in between the roll up dock ones with glazed sections as well.
Although it says the LI 2304 allowing this strategy is not applicable for NC v2009, we would like to know if any of you had used glazed sections in doors to comply with this credit in the NC version 3 and succeeded??

I do not see an issue with you not being able to earn this credit. As long as the workers in that area of the dock primarily stand all day. I would provide a narrative explaining the scenario along with sections demonstrating that the glazing in the doors is within the proper height.

I have used glass doors and doors with lights with success on a number of projects to achieve this credit. To make your case, I would make sure to include an elevation/section of your roll-up door to prove there is sufficient glazed area to provide a "quality view". The project refered to in the LI only provided 6" of glazing, which is probably why it is no longer acceptable for v2009.
