Hello,
Our team considering IAQ Performance about v4 BD+C CS.
The project is warehouse distribution center, so we considering IAQ performance in storage area.
Some of people working in storage area, so we'll design supply fan and exhaust fan to intake outdoor air.
However, if we installed supply and exhaust fan, we are concerned that high portion in energy consumption.
Therefore, if we installed only exhaust or supply fans, the other side design louver(same as fan size).
Is it possible to meet EQp1 IAQ Performance?
Alt1) Exhaust air(EA by Exhaust fan), Makeup air(OA by louver)
or
Alt2) Supply air(OA by Supply fan), Exhaust air(EA by louver)

both options you list would meet the prereq requirements. be sure to also address the monitoring requirements of the prereq.
Good Luck!

Dear Dave,
Thank you for reply,
Any chance of reviewer comments?
I've looked through ASHRAE 62.1 and haven't found anything about it.

Your scenario is addressed in the 62.1 user manual, more specifically Table 6-B. This addresses 'induced ventilation'.
Your Ez will be either 0.8 or 0.5 depending on the location(s) of the makeup and exhaust.
Have seen this method of ventilation approved by GBCI many times as this seems to be the most common method to ventilation warehouses.
Hope you find this helpful.

Dear all,
I have a Warehouse in Italy and I'm evaluating the option Exhaust air(EA by Exhaust fan) and Makeup air(OA by louver). In this case, for Minimun IAQ Perf. and Enhanced IAQ Perf., is accepted the the verification of the flow rates according to the table 6-1 of ASHRAE 62.1-2010 plus 30% or is required a CFD? We can provide filter media and flow monitoring on makeup air grills.

it is acceptable to use ASHRAE 62.1-2010 for both EQp Minimum IAQ Performance and for the +30% option of EQc Enhanced IAQ Strategies.

Thank you Dave. Do you confirm that is not required a CFD?

CFD is not needed for either the prereq or +30%. Just be sure to properly select the distribution effectiveness (Ez) value.
Ez = 0.8; when makeup air is drawn in on the opposite side of the room from the exhaust and/or return.
Ez = 0.5; when makeup air is drawn in near the exhaust and/or return.
ASHRAE 62.1 User's Manual, Table 6-B - Zone Air Distribution Effectiveness illustrates this scenario.
Good Luck!
