Can someone point me in a direction of where in the LEED credist wallpapers and wall coverings fall. Obviously products that are GreenGuard Certified are more desirebale, but if they are not certified, what are the limits?

Wall paper and wall coverings don't fall into any credit category under LEED NC, though the adhesives used would be in EQc4.1.

LEED for Schools has a credit, IEQc4.6, that covers wallcoverings, but Mara is right that LEED-NC doesn't cover them.

interesting - many thanks!. i thought since i could not find it i was missing something. seems like these wall coverings that are often PVC based ought to fall somewhere. esp in retail situations, and commercial settings like hospitals. i have found some wallcoverings that are greenguard certified so i suppose these are for the Schools rating.

Gita, PVC-based materials are covered under a relatively new pilot credit, "PBT Source Reduction: Dioxins and Halogenated Organic Compounds". See http://www.usgbc.org/ShowFile.aspx?DocumentID=6331 for this pilot credit and http://www.usgbc.org/DisplayPage.aspx?CMSPageID=2104 for the pilot credit program. This would include wall coverings, but also address many other things.

We also have the relevant pilot credit language and a forum to discuss those credits here on LEEDuser. Here's the link to Pilot Credit 2: PBT Source Reduction.

Wallpaper and wall coverings that are not GreenGuard certified may meet LEED criteria if they have a VOC emission rating of at least 'D'. Wallpaper and wall coverings rated "D" emit a small amount of VOCs, but still less than materials that do not meet the LEED criteria.
High-quality wallpapers are provided by the company https://fancywalls.eu/blog/bedroom-accent-wall-ideas/. They have only high-quality materials, a wide range and good prices!
