What is the difference between VOC emissions evaluation option 1 and VOC emissions evaluation option 2 under the low-emitting criteria column on the v4.1 low-emitting materials calculator? Thank you!

I had this same question when I first opened the v4.1 calculator, and I found the answer in the online Reference Guide: Option 1 is Product Category Calculations and Option 2 is the Budget Calculation Method. So if you're not using the budget method and all your products meet the thresholds, you would select Option 1.

In v4.1, Option 1 and Option 2 for the purpose of VOC Emissions Evaluation refer to the compliance standard used - for instance, CDPH Standard is an option 1 compliance and CEN TS 16516 is an option 2 compliance. The budgetary calculation method that used to be offered as option 2 in v4 had been removed. A bit confusing since the term 'option' refers to a 'method' in v4 while it refers to a 'standard' in v4.1

On the "Paints and Coatings" worksheet, it provides an explanation when you hover over the red triangle in the "VOC Emissions Evaluation" column. I assumed that this note extended to all the other categories and worksheets. Option 1 is for products tested in accordance with the CDPH standard and Option 2 is for products tested in accordance with EN 16516.
