Hi Paula,
According to https://www.usgbc.org/articles/rating-system-selection-guidance, The LEED BD+C Healthcare rating system is suitable for hospitals that operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and provide inpatient medical treatment, including acute and long-term care. If your lab project does not meet this definition, I would say it is LEED BD+C, New Construction.
