Our team is have been reviewing WELL and are considering completing a WELL credit in our LEED project. Would it be worth it to write this up as an Innovation in Design credit - does it seem like GBCI would accept this approach?

I inquired about this for a LEED/WELL project last April, and this is the response I received from GBCI:
A project's achievement of WELL Certification has not been approved as a strategy for earning an Innovation in Design (ID) credit. As you suggested in your inquiry, it may be possible for a LEED project to earn an ID credit for implementing a WELL feature that is not covered under LEED version 4. This WELL feature should represent increased environmental quality or improved human health / wellness, beyond any prerequisite or credit that already exists within the LEED rating system. The project team should also note that WELL feature requirements that are demonstrated and confirmed by a WELL Assessor during onsite Performance Verification would also have to include some type of documentation that includes a demonstration method when submitting for LEED ID credit consideration.
Good luck!
