Does anyone have experience with the credit minimum energy performance for a data center certified according to Core and Shell? In the baseline model, created automatically by DesignBuilder there are 8760 unmet load hours in the white spaces with very high internal heat gains. System 8 is used. Is it possible that this system is not able to provide enough cooling because it is not meant for data center purposes or does this mean that the baseline is just incorrect?

Sounds like a capacity issue. Not sure how Energy Plus determine the baseline system capacity. Might want to ask this question at the Energy Plus help desk.

Hi Ilse Van
Have you managed to sort out the unmet hours in baseline model? I use IES-VE and have the same issue. As Appendix G requires, it is sized based on ASHRAE methodology and couldnt be capacity issue.

System 8 is likely the incorrect system type for the computer rooms, which should qualify for G3.1.1 exception g and therefore be modeled using a separate system (either System 11 or System 3/4) from the non-computer rooms. Hopefully that would resolve the unmet hour issue.
