We are in a project with two different volumes that are joint in the first floor by a footbridge (the first floor of both buildings at the same height). There is nothing under the footbridge (the concrete site hardscape); however, there is a glass-canopy above the glass-footbridge. Are both the footbridge and/or the canopy into the objetive of this credit? If not, are into the objetive of ss_c7.1 because they are covering a hardscape?
In one of the buildings, we have a terrace over the roof (the floor of the terrace is 1 meter over the roof of the building so they aren´t in touch). I think the glass of the floor of the terrace isn´t into the objetive of this credit and I should consider the roof under the terrace, am i correct?
Finally, I´ve read skylights can´t apply for this credit, why not?

1) If the footbridge roof is covering outdoor hardscape it would be considered an architectural structure and would be subject to requirements for SSc7.1 Non-Roof.
2) LEED Interpretation ID #5383 specifically addresses a glass canopy. From that ruling, "Yes, the glass canopy can be excluded from SRI roof requirements under SSc7.2 as it covers an unconditioned outdoor space, not a building." However, as stated above, this material would be subject to the requirements of SSc7.1.
3) LEED Interpretation ID #10235 provides clarification on your question regarding skylights. Skylights are considered to be an appurtenance (from the LEED glossary: "a built-in, nonstructural portion of a roof system. Examples include skylights, ventilators, mechanical equipment, partitions, and solar energy panels.") and may be excluded from the applicable roof area used in your calculations.
