UK Equivalent Standards for Optimized Energy Performance

Hi all, I’m working on a LEED project in the UK and would appreciate clarification on the accepted UK equivalents for Optimized Energy Performance modelling requirements.

Specifically:

  • Which UK standards are typically accepted in place of ASHRAE 90.1 for baseline modelling?
  • Are Part L, CIBSE TM54, or other UK methodologies recognised as compliant?
  • Any project examples or GBCI feedback on successful UK submissions would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I am not aware of any UK specific standards or protocols that have been granted equivalency, There are EU based standards for the mandatory provisions in 90.1 (both 2010 and 2016).

LEED still uses ASHRAE 90.1 as the baseline, even for UK projects. For inputs/support you can use UK methods (Part L, CIBSE) but the model must be ASHRAE compliant.
