Hello all,
In this project in Taiwan (I cannot find the country selection below), there are no available IES files nor BUG ratings for the exterior luminaires; therefore, I am pursuing the credit using the Calculation Method. I would appreciate any assistance for clarification of the following.
For Uplight, I will need to obtain information of total lumen and total lumen above horizontal for each luminaire, and satisfying the maximum percentage requirement for all luminaries.
For Trespass, I need to conduct vertical illuminance simulation using software such as Visual (as mentioned from previous posts) to satisfy the fc requirements. I am a little stuck as to the input of the lighting information. The examples I've seen directly imports IES files which makes running the vertical illuminance fairly straight forwards. When I don't have such files, how do I go about obtaining and importing the photometric data of the luminaire. Do these luminaires need to be tested locally with photometric data and if so, which specific outputs are needed for inputting in the software.
Thank you very much.

Sorry for the delayed response, I just saw your post.
The calculation method needs a lighting file of some sort. It doesn't have to be IES, that's just what North America is used to. It looks like the Visual software is able to read IES, LDT, CIB, TMS, or CB1 extension. Other programs are likely similar.
The only way I know how to obtain a photometric file is to send the light fixture to a testing lab. They put the light fixture in a sphere about 2 meters in diameter with light sensors at specific locations. Then, based on the sensor readings they make a text file filled with numbers. This is the photometric file. Most manufacturers have done this, many even have this capability themselves. If not, demand the manufacturer do this as a verification of quality. I'm sure there are testing companies in Taiwan. My quick Google search found SGS Optics lab.
I don't know how to verify compliance with this credit without a photometric file or BUG rating from the manufacturer.
