Tracking Embodied Carbon through Construction

Hi all! I'm very excited to report that we have interest from a developer client in tracking embodied carbon through construction. We have issued construction documents and the construction managment team is begining the process to establish the GMP.

We're looking to use EC3, and/ or ZGF's LCA analysis tool for concrete to look at how we can reduce embodied carbon through material procurement - which mineral wool we choose, etc. We are ALSO looking to dip a foot right into figuring out with our structural engineer, concrete supplier, and construction team how to reduce embodied carbon in the concrete by studying and fine-tuning the time to strength, reviewing sequencing schedule, and mix design in additon to hitting our performance targets for ultimate strength, and our cost numbers. I've been tasked with getting my head around how much time/ effort this might take our design team to accomplish. Has anyone had any experience with this workflow, including using EC3? I'd love to hear 1. lessons learned/ recommendation/ don't do this or 2. This took us X amount of time, our proposal was in this % range, etc.

Thank you!
