Hello Sustainable Construction Leaders!
Here at BuildingGreen we are excited and looking forward to creating a valuable and engaging online summit with you all for 2020! In addition to going online, this year we have shifted the dates so that the SCL Summit will occur within weeks of all other Peer Network Summits. This allows us to host one big closing event and foster more crossover between the networks.
Our key task this year will be to ratify and launch the Contractor Commitment. We’re incredibly proud of the progress that has been made this year and firmly believe this effort could have a huge impact on the industry. If successful, this effort would be the first to:

standardize tracking jobsite carbon for comprehensive carbon accounting;

leverage the combined power of construction professionals to optimize products for health and high performance;

encourage transparency in waste tracking to be used for targeted, regional advocacy.
We also plan to support each other in tackling some of the biggest challenges that this year has brought. Instances of police brutality have brought long overdue attention to all types of racial and social equity injustices, including some within contractors’ control. We’ll discuss EDI initiatives within companies and how to prioritize low-emitting job sites within respiratory hotspots. We’ll also consider the impact of COVID-19 on the construction industry and strategize how to keep up momentum for sustainability initiatives when budgets are tight.
You can Register Here to review important information. The dates to mark on your calendars are July 29-31, 2020. We’ve kept the price of the Summit the same as last year ($399), but this year we’ll be spending more time together and there will be more ways to interact with other peer networks.
