Hi,
we are working in a project where the HVAC thermal plant will include a thermal storage system (ice tanks). This system is intended to be loaded during night-time periods (when energy price is lower), allowing its use during part of the day. We estimate that during winter periods it may even be possible to keep chillers off during daytime.
We think this system may be considered towards this credit purpose (reducing grid demand in peak periods), namely in case 2 - Demand response program not available - since it allows a total peak demand reduction higher than 10%.
Has anyone tried this successfully before? Which documentation may be needed to demonstrate compliance?
Regards,
