Hi,
I'm a mechanical engineer working on a project now that is 100% open offices space, with some large conference rooms, and various "huddle" rooms (no individual offices). The huddle rooms are small breakout rooms consisting of a table with 4 chairs where people can collaborate.
The HVAC design includes a VAV system working off a floor AHU. We zoned the systems that 3 huddle rooms are on 1 VAV. It would just be too cost and space ineffective to do 1 VAV per room since these are fairly small rooms (~100 sf)
But then I have the challenge of making sure that each shared multioccupant space has thermal comfort control. My original thought was to just put a thermostat in each huddle room and then average the space temperatures to control that VAV.
Would this satisfy the "control" requirement for this credit?
