Dear All,
Kindly clarify the following query regarding Thermal Comfort Design Alternative Compliance Path for projects in India.
In ACP it is said that projects shall meet the desired comfort conditions as specified in National Building Code of India (NBC).
1. For mechanically conditioned buildings, NBC 2005 Part 8, Section 3 - Table 2
2. For naturally conditioned buildings, NBC 2005 Part 8, Section 1 - Table 9
As per NBC, for mechanically ventilated industry and other specific applications, the design conditions shall be per user’s requirement. So, can we consider that the designed condition meets the requirement of Thermal Comfort Design credit even if doesn’t comply with ASHRAE 55 standard. The design condition for the space is 32±1 0C and 65% RH.
Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the NBC requirements, but 32˚C at 65% RH doesn't sound to me like it meets the credit intent. I can't imagine the reviewers would accept that.
