Hi all,
I am working on a whole building simulation according to Appendix G.
The 10 storey building is divided on 3 tennants. One tenant brings an own, independent HVAC System which is unknown to us.
Do we have to model this tennant space same as the baseline model?
Or is it possible to use the datas of the central HVAC system (serving the other two tenants) for this tenant space area?

I would think that if the building is fully occupied you would need to model what has been designed and installed in your proposed model in all areas of the building. So no don't model the baseline in the unknown space and most certainly do not use the design from the other two tenants for the unknown space.

Dear Marcus:
I have the similar situation as Marco, but I did not understand very clear your response. I am working on a model of a shopping mall but several tenant spaces do not have a HVAC design yet, each tenant will have to propose it install it. I was planning to model the same HVAC system as in the baseline in those areas, according to Appendix G. What you suggest is to exclude the tenant areas where there is no HVAC designed yet, and treat them as not conditioned or unoccupied, is that correct?
Thanks in advance

Never exclude spaces, sorry for the confusion. Always model the whole building.
If there is a tenant occupying a space that space could be modeled as designed and occupied or be identical to the Baseline.
If there is not a tenant occupying the space then model it identically to the ASHRAE baseline.
In Marco's case it sounds like the building is fully occupied. So to amend what I said before he could model the whole building as designed and constructed or model the whole building identical to the baseline in the tenant spaces. It likely depends on if there is the opportunity to claim any energy savings in the tenant spaces.
