I’ve read in the Bird’s Eye View Section that “Tenant submetering would not alone qualify for this credit. […]”.
I would like to confirm that tenant submetering does not need to be continuous and electronically recorded.
Could we use the tenant’s utility meter for this credit?
Major uses in the building will be continuously, automatically, and electronically recorded and relayed back to a BAS.

Hi Gustavo,
The end-uses that should be metered to earn this credit represent individual building systems, like lighting, heating, cooling, etc. The issue with most tenant utility meters is that they group all these end-uses into a single energy consumption value. While that might help identify when generally something is off on a particular floor, it wouldn't help to determine what specific system needs to be looked at closer.
The tenant submeters would need to be continuous and electronically recorded only if they are contributing to the credit by measuring at the system level. If they only measure certain systems, or if your BAS can isolate specific systems, it should be fine. If not, you would need to add electronic submeters for the highest energy-using systems to earn this credit.
