NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

technical floor

In the building we are modeling there are some technical floor among conditioned floors for example between the 9th and the 11 th floor which are conditioned there is a tehcnical floor which is neither cooled nor heated my questions are: 1- can I consider this technical floor as an attic above the 9th floor ? 2-DO I have to model it which means do I have to check the lights,glazing... or what else can i do? 3-what is the temperarure I should set to allow for heat transfer between conditioned spaces and this technical floors. REgards,

You have to model it as designed. If the space is unconditioned there would not be any temperature setting since there would be no equipment to maintain it.

Yes, you would model the technical floor as it is designed - all of its envelope components, lighting, and the fact that it is unconditioned. Its internal temperature will automatically be calculated based on the effects of both the outdoor temperature at the exterior envelope and the heat transfer happening between the conditioned and the unconditioned levels. You will model the floor structures separating the unconditioned levels from the conditioned levels as partitions that heat transfer may occur at.
