NC-v4.1 MRc3:Sourcing of Raw Materials

Sustainable Forestry Initiative

Does wood which is certified under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative program qualify as contributing toward the BPDO "Sourcing of Raw Materials" point?, or - does only FSC wood count toward this?

John, I just was this question.  SFI, under certain circumstances, can qualify as an alternative compliance to FSC.  Refer to the LEED Pilot Credit for Legal Wood.  Also, read more under this credit for the Legal Wood ACP.  In the LEED Credit Library, also look at the Resources tab for the Legal Wood Calculator.  The last sheet includes a great breakdown of what can be used--if legal, responsible and certified.  Must also meet Chain of Custody.  https://www.usgbc.org/credits/new-construction-core-and-shell-schools-new-construction-retail-new-construction-healthc-237?view=language&return=/credits/New%20Construction/v4.1 Hope this is not too late!
