Hello All! My firm is looking to hire a sustainability coordinator to help advance our sustainable initiatives at our firm. This will be a new position for our firm. Does anyone have a job description, roles/responsibilties, and task list that they would be willing to share with me? Or if you serve in this role at your firm, I'd love to chat with you about it. Hi Heidi, Welcome to the SDL! This is a great question--it strikes me that this is the very question that inspired the creation of this network. Early adopter firms were creating SD Leader positions and those early leaders were asking each other how to define the role, and then how to be successful in it. It continues to be relevant--at the recent Winter Summit we had dynamic conversations about how sustainability leadership responsibilities and teams are structured. Because firms are so different in size, structure, and areas of focus, I think that you will get more useful answers if you provide more information about INVISION: how large is it? Are you all in one office, or in multiple? What market sectors do you serve? How much of your work currently involves LEED, WELL, and other certifications? All of that will factor into helping to define this position. Again, welcome, and good luck with this endeavor! I'm looking forward to hearing what others have to say. Thank you, Nadav! And great questions. I'm happy to elaborate further. INVISION is a midwest firm located in Iowa. We have two offices, one in Des Moines the other in Waterloo. Combined we are around 75 people and growing! Our two larget markets are Healthcare and Education, but also work in corporate industrial, sports and recreation, hospitality, housing and municipal sectors. Most of our LEED projects are tied to our Board of Regents projects and we have a firm goal to have our first WELL certified project in the next 5 years. We have staff that hold both the LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP accredications. We are interested in having a dedicated individual push our sustainability initiatives forward for continued innovation and growth. Thank you to all that have already provided your insight!
