Support research to quantify the potential of the built environment to be a carbon sink

I am forwarding this request from Kate Simonen from the Carbon Leadership Forum to support a grant application for this research. I don't know if the link will work in this format but if you have questions or want to sign you can contact me or Kate and I can send you the mail with the link my email is:  lstrain@siegelstrain.com     Thanks!                                                                                                                                                                                     From Kate:

Would you please consider signing a letter of support for a grant the CLF is applying for?  See LINK.

Wil Srubar (U Colorado) and I are putting a grant application together for the Alfred P Sloan Foundation that in short will request funds to:

  • Quantify the potential for the global built environment to become a carbon sink;
  • Develop LCAs of existing (e.g., hempcrete) and emerging (e.g. synthetic aggregate) carbon-positive material technologies;
  • Create representative EPDs for these materials to include in open access databases such as the US LCI and EC3; and
  • Prove out 'bleeding edge’ carbon-positive material technologies at the bench scale in Wil's lab.

As I posted to the ECN, we're looking to collect signatures for a letter of support to include in a letter of interest.  If we make it past the first stage we'll need to put together a more comprehensive proposal.
