We are going to do the 2 part submittal for review and will submit most of the design credits. On the LEED Online website, Innovation is considered a design credit.... and many types of credits fall under this umbrella on the website - Exemplary Performance, Innovation, Pilot..... My question is this..... If we submit Innovation for our first review, are we then locked out of adding any additional innovation credits at our 2nd, final review? Because, as I understand it, once we submit for design review and credits are approved, we cannot go back and change any of them, is this correct?

Will they then only undergo one review, or will these additional ID credits still be able to be revised before their own final review?

Hi Ralph,
It depends on exactly when you're revised ones are submitted as to how many chances for revision you'll have.
Let's say you submit all 5 strategies during the first Design review. 3 of them are accepted and 2 are not. You can revise those remaining 2 (either according to the review comments, or as brand new strategies) before the final Design review, or hold off until the first Construction review, or you can submit them for the first time as part of the final Construction review. If you submit anything new or revised just prior to the final Construction review (last review phase), it does not get an opportunity to be revised. Same if you're doing a combined review (both Design and Construction together), if you submit revisions prior to the final review, there is no other chance for revision. So, if you have a brand new strategy, you run the risk of it being denied without opportunity for revision.
Does that make sense?

On a project, we intend to aim for 5 points for Innovation and Pilot credits (2 EP, 1 Pilot and 2 Innovation).
While the documentation for the EPs and Pilot credit is complete, the two innovation credits are under client scope and are being worked on.
We plan to submit the project for design review in the coming weeks and realised LEED online categorizes the 5 available points for Innovation credit as Design credits. We discussed the various options for submitting these 5 credits.
Option 2 or 3 would be preferable in our case. Please let me know if this is acceptable.

You can submit any number of strategies at any point in the certification process. Just tell the credit form how many and what kind you want to submit for the Design submission and the form will adjust automatically.
When you come back for the Construction submission, you will need to 'open to update' the form, and increase the number of points being attempted if you have additional strategies to submit then.
You can split up the strategies/types as you see fit for your project.
