NC-v4 MRp2:Construction and demolition waste management planning

Still able to have commingled waste being recycle?

Hi everyone!

Im starting a new project that will certify as NC Major Renovation in LEED v4. So, we were analysing this credit´s option 1 (either path 1 or 2). Due to our location, we are close to a recycling facility that diverts materials hich is sent as commingled waste. In previous projects, we used to send waste as commingled and they separated material to recycle. We are not sure if we are still able to do this, due to the material streams that are required.

Is it possible not to divert materials on site, and send commingled materials to this facility? Or, is it that "commingled waste" as such can be considered as one of the materials streams to be declared?

Thank you for your help!

If recycled materials are commingled, waste haul tickets will need to provide weights by material type to count as documenting different material streams. If the weights by material type are not provided on the waste haul tickets the commingled waste will only count as one material stream regardless of the number of different materials included in the commingled waste.
