Hi there -
I'm working on a 4-building office campus that is being developed all in one phase. The current plan is to certify each building individually and use the Master Site documentation process. Does anyone know why, in the new Multi-Building Campus Guidance that was recently released, SSp1 is designated as an Individual building credit instead of eligible for the Master Site documentation? This project has just one campus-wide ESC plan, which is what the City required. I would think this is a perfect credit for the Master Site documentation process. Do I just upload the same site-wide ESC plan four times to the individual building LEED Online profiles? We wouldn't be required to create new, building-by-building ESC plans just for LEED, would we?

I can't speak to why the prerequisite was omitted from the new guidance, but I would expect that you could still use essentially the same plan and make minor adjustments to the plan for each building.

We have the same situation. It seems like the Campus guidance assumes that buildings will be built individually over a period of time by separate teams. If multiple buildings are being bid and constructed at once, it would seem logical that a general site ESCP (with building-specific details) would be appropriate. However, I have seen no formal information or ruling on this. Anyone else?

Anyone else have information on submitting SSp1 using the campus approach but submitting it for each individual building submittal instead of through the Master Site?

Check page 12 of the AGMBC under "Additional General Guidelines"; subparagraph "Campus or group strategies for credits not included in tables" which states:
"If the project team believes that they can demonstrate compliance with a credit not listed in this guidance as a campus credit or a group credit, they may either submit the approach during the project review, or submit an inquiry via the formal inquiry process if feedback is required prior to submitting a project for certification review. The team must describe why the
approach will produce the same end result as an individual compliance approach"
So, it does appear you can use the master site to apply for the SSp1 prerequisite but you have to justify that the master site approach will provide the same results as an individual credit approach. The new LEED Online for Campuses does allow you to attempt the credit under your master site.
