Schools-2009 IEQp3:Minimum Acoustical Performance

Sound absorption coefficient data

Hello, We are working on filling out the Sound Absorption coefficient data in Table IEQp3-3. While we have data for some of the items we need, the manufacturer's cut-sheets do not provide sound absorption data for items such as drapery, uplholstry and common materials such as wood and gypsum board. Does LEED accept general data for these items? What is the altrernative for documentation if we don't have this data in the cut-sheets? Thank you,

For every project that I've needed to use this table, I've started with the acoustic materials first. This usually brings he reverb times below 1.5 seconds and I do not enter the other materials. So I guess you could say the table is not very detailed with regard to all of the components in the space. It only shows that by using the acoustic material that we'll meet the reverb time requirements. The actual reverb time being slightly less than what is reported. If you wanted it to be more detailed (or are relying on typical construction materials to achieve the reverb time), I would just upload another pdf table called "typical construction materials" and list the absorption coefficients for the various materials you want to show. Maybe include at the bottom of the table where the values were obtained from. I think that would be sufficient.
