NC-v4 EAc5:Renewable energy production

Solar powered parking lot lights

Would dedicated solar powered parking lot lights help contribute toward obtaining x% of the buildings annual energy cost covered by renewable energy? If so could the lights be standalone systems not connected to the main building electrical system or would they need to be tied into the main building switchgear to count as contributing toward building energy use?

Yes they would contribute. They can be stand alone as long as they are within the LEED project boundary.

I have a project being designed to 90.1-2007 and there are no lighting zones in that code.  I have 100% solar powered parking lot lightings. How would this be entered for baseline allowances since v4 is 90.1-2010?

Section 9.4.3 outlines the baseline. You select the lighting zone that is most appropriate to the project.
