CS-v4 EQp2:Environmental tobacco smoke control

Smoking on roof

Do we need to prohibit smoking on the roof of a multi tenant office, hotell and retail building. The architect have designed an outdoor environment on the roof including vegetations, pounds, open space (teracce), hot spots for social acitivity etc. We anticipate many tenants and visitors want to use this roof space to smoke.

Is is enough to prohibit smoking 25 feet from entries, outdoor intake and operable windows? Or is the only way forward do prohibit smoking over the entire roof?

Best regards Tobias

Hello Tobias Did you get any response on this? I'm facing a similar situation in one of my projects and I'm wondering if smoking space on the terrace is acceptable.

Hello all,  No balcony, terrace, or rooftop smoking areas within 25 feet (7.5 meters), horizontally or vertically, of any rooftop or balcony entrances, outdoor air intakes, or operable windows are allowed for smoking.  If designated smoking place is beyond 25 feet (7.5 meters) from such spaces then it should be fine.
