Dear Colleagues,
The EPA has released a very impressive proposal for ENERGY STAR specs for residential water heaters that will strongly encourage electrification and decarbonization of these appliances.
ENERGY STAR is a voluntary program for high performance appliances and this is a huge opportunity to begin the decarb transition at a national level.
We are expecting a lot of opposition and we need strong support from building industry professionals.
Please consider signing on to a letter of support at this link adding your firm logo at the top and name below:

Deadline is end of day on Wednesday 11/10.
Please share with your networks nationally.
Here is a link to the draft specification if you want more detail: https://www.energystar.gov/sites/default/files/ENERGY%20STAR%20Version%205.0%20Residential%20Water%20Heaters%20Draft%201%20Specification_5.pdf
Our letter should look similar to the letter below that many of you signed this year successfully asking the California Energy Commission to advance decarbonization in Title 24.
