I am the poor slob (AKA apprentice) tasked with sorting out the credit our local electrical utility will allow for a lighting project of a commercial bldg outside parking lot. The utility pays proportional to the power savings relative to the 2017 ASHRAE recommended LPD and the lot size
Is there a difference between LPD and LPA ? Is LPA = LPD*area ?
I understand the ASHRAE 90.1 LPA as a power density standard (but really, an attempt to set an efficiency standard), but I keep circling around to the idea that I most know the *minimum* lighting requirement in terms of illumination or else the problem is reduced to an absurd. So far, I have not found an illumination standard in ASHRAE 90.1
Please set me straight, and a pointer in the right direction would be most appreciated.
