CI-2009 EAc1.3:Optimize Energy Performance—HVAC

Section 3.10 compliance

I'm working on a CI project that we are currently designing VAVs for the floor(s), the main AHUs are not part of the scope of work but they have VFDs. To comply with Section 3.10, which is reducing fan motor electric demand at 50% air flow, can we include the VFDs from the existing AHU fans or is it only reserved for fans/pumps that are part of our work scope?

I would think that if the building systems comply then your project would comply.

Ok, thanks. I was wondering because one the LEED online template it states "All HVAC equipment installed as part of the scope of work satisfies the relevant Core Performance Guide requirements...". Which made me concerned because it seems they are only singling out VFDs as part of the project work scope.
