Hi there Manager
I have a project where the architect wants proposal a deck floor on a roof. This roof the employees can take a break, but the deck floor is dark and it is a suspended floor, so I would like to know if we can meet with applying reflective waterproofing under the deck floor?

Hi Mauricio,
The roofing under the deck will not count towards credit compliance. The deck, itself, will be part of the calculations since that is the surface that the sun will hit and will (or will not) contribute to the heat island effect targeted by this credit.
That said, the calculations for this credit are weighted, so the results can vary depending on the combination of compliant/non-compliant areas. I find it helpful to plug my takeoff numbers into the credit form to see how the different materials affect the calcs.
