The AIA New Orleans 2030 Committee is running RISING21 this week, November 11th and 12th from 1:30-5:30pm ET. This is the second year of these sessions that aspire to advance awareness and knowledge around climate and access to affordable energy among practitioners from the AEC industry. We invite architects, MEP professionals, interior designers, structural engineers and all city/urban planners to embrace these challenges and seek solutions through the RISING21 symposium. Please consider attending for both or one day, and share with architects, developers, contractors, and community members who might want to join us!
The symposium will be conducted via a virtual platform over two days, Thursday and Friday, from 12:30-4:30pm CT. Thursday’s event will include a Kira Gould as a keynote followed by panelists covering the basics of energy-efficient design, then opening up the topics to working discussion groups. On Friday, Z Smith and two panels will advance discussion focused around power production and delivery, then embodied carbon related to material and structural choices. A mix of panel presentations and focused break out discussions will facilitate action around a range of pressing climate-change issues and cutting-edge solutions including:
• Overview of energy efficiency practices, timeline and targets, net-zero design practices, and material considerations.
• Cross-disciplinary working groups
• Introduction of emerging tools that test, measure and verify design performance
There are also a few sponsorship opportunities left. As a sponsor, you’ll receive registration to the event, and your brand and logo will be featured throughout the event and on all media. Whether you’d like to sponsor or attend, we’d love to “see” you there.
