We have a laboratory project with emercency eye wash and shower stations that has a dedicated water supply. The water in the pipes serving these fixtures must be flushed on a regular basis. This water will be flushed through the toilet fixtures (as opposed to discharged directly sewer), could this be count water reuse for the indoor water use reduction calculation?

Hi Erin,
I do not believe this meets the intent of the credit, as it seems the initial water source is still regular potable water. Additionally, emergency fixtures such as these are not included in the water calcs as they are considered process water for the purposes of the Prereq/Credit.
I think it'd be a stretch, but you may want to review the Pilot Credit for Whole Project Water Use Reduction as an Alternative Compliance Path (ACP) and see if that is a beneficial path for your project. Unlike other regular Pilot Credits, pursuit of this ACP would replace the documentation/points for the regular Indoor Water Use Reduction credit (rather than generate points in the Innovation category).
