Hello,
I have a question regarding interior paints and coatings applied on site category. The emissions requirements are applicable (according to reference guide) to paints and coatings applied to walls, floors and ceilings whereas VOC content is required for wet applied products. That is why I assume that for paint applied on pipes I need to know if the product is compliant just with VOC content requirements. That is my assumption, but I have a feeling that we disagree in that case with Low-Emitting Materials Calculator where all interior paints and coatings are automatically assigned to Emissions Criteria requirements.
Does anyone have a solution for that issue, or maybe I shouldn’t take into consideration paints applied on pipes in LEED calculator?

The VOC limits and emissions requirements for paints and coatings are applicable to everything applied on-site, except touch-up paint. See Table 1 for the credit in the Reference Guide. It seems like you may be referring to Option 2, the Budget Calculation Method, which lists flooring, ceilings and walls as assemblies to group products within. I recommend steering away from Option 2 if at all possible, because it requires MUCH more tracking that Option 1. If you have pipes you're painting, that paint would be included in Option 1 since it's applied on site. If you're doing Option 2, I would include that paint volume in the applicable assembly. For instance, if the pipes run along the ceiling, the paint would be part of the ceiling assembly.
